Even though Shelly, Eric's lab partner, is continuously hitting on him, Donna seems unconcerned. But things change when Donna finds someone's panties in the Vista Cruiser.

When Shelly, Eric's chemistry lab partner, starts hitting on him, Eric hopes that Donna will notice. Kelso suggests that maybe Donna will get angry, and she and Shelly will wrestle over him. But Donna seems unconcerned, even when Eric makes a point of telling her what's going on. She can't wait to tell Eric about how Kelso slipped on some mashed potatoes in the cafeteria, slid into a pole with his legs spread and earned the new nickname "tater nuts." Red goes to the doctor, and when Kitty finds out that his blood pressure is through the roof, she decides to put first Red on a diet. Red protests that all he gets to eat is gray food. But worst of all, Kitty has taken away his beer. Donna asks Jackie if she should be worried about the amount of time Eric's spending with Shelly. Jackie says normally she'd say yes, because all guys cheat. But Eric wouldn't cheat, because he's more like a masculine girl. Just to be safe, Donna decides to leave Eric a note on his car. While she's doing that, she finds a pair of panties inside the Vista Cruiser. Donna asks Laurie if the panties belong to her. Absolutely not. She then asks Hyde if he had a girl in the car. No, but Hyde smeared some cheese under the seat to mess with Eric. The guys decide that since Shelly's a tramp, the panties probably belong to her. Both Hyde and Laurie catch Red sneaking a burger in the garage. Some fries are enough to buy Hyde's silence, but Laurie requires cash. A fantasy scene follows in which Eric and Donna are making out in his bedroom which is filled with enormous quantities of panties. When Jackie tells Midge that Donna's going to beat up on Eric, because she found panties in the Vista Cruiser, Midge confesses that the panties are hers. Donna confronts Eric in front of Shelly. She trusted him, and he cheated on her with this slut! Shelly denies ownership of the panties, and Eric has no idea what Donna's talking about. Midge comes in and tells Donna the panties belong to her. Midge and Bob have been married so long that occasionally it helps to be a little creative. At dinner, Kitty urges Red to eat his diet food because it's good for him. If that's the case, asks Red, why is he the only one who has to eat it? Good point, says Kitty, removing Hyde's and Laurie's plates and serving them the beige casserole that Red has. Red says maybe they'll think twice before they mess with him again.
