Canadian Road Trip

The guys take a road trip to Canada to buy beer, but things go awry when Fez loses his green card. Jackie gets a modeling audition and refuses to listen when Donna tells her it might be a scam. Red brings home a Betamax, and Kitty pronounces it useless.

The four guys plus Leo head out on a road trip to Canada to buy beer. Kelso happily brings along an air horn, which no road trip should be without. Jackie's thrilled to receive an invitation to audition from the Glamourella Modeling Agency in Sheboygan. They're going, she tells Donna, because if she were a model, she'd never have to think again. Pricemart gives Red a VCR as a bonus; he can't wait to tape something, though Kitty's not impressed. The guys stock up on beer and are approaching the Canadian border to go back to Wisconsin when Fez realizes he's forgotten his green card. He reluctantly gets in the trunk under a blanket, and the guys pile beer on him. At Glamourella, Jackie gets a warm welcome from Michelle, the president, and is told that she's a "remarkable talent." All Jackie needs to get started is to fork out hundreds of dollars to cover administrative fees, publicity shots and beauty supplies. Jackie's cool with it, but a highly skeptical Donna has a few questions. Red's fiddling with the Betamax and promises Kitty that soon they'll have "Roots" on tape. Kitty wants to know why they just can't watch it. At the Canadian border, the two guards are ready to wave the guys through, but the sound of a beer bottle opening gets their attention. The border guard pops the trunk, and there's Fez. No one is leaving, say the guards, until they get some answers. Back in Jackie's bedroom, Donna tries to convince her that the whole modeling scheme is a rip off and a scam. Jackie thinks Donna's trying to ruin the most important thing that has ever happened to her. Donna has no choice but the grab Jackie's checkbook and run out. Things are tense at the border station until Kelso leads the guys in a rendition of Oh Canada. Fez finds his green card, they leave the beer behind, and they're home free. Back at the modeling agency Jackie becomes a believer when Donna pretends that she wants to be a model too and Michelle, with dollar signs in her eyes, is ready to sign her up. Now Jackie knows it's a scam. Red's all set for a viewing of "Roots" when Kitty points out that he forgot to put a tape in the VCR.
