Eric's Drunken Tattoo

Original Airdate: May 1, 2001
Writers: Dean Batali, Rob DesHotel
Director: David Trainer
When Eric sneaks a peek at Donna's journal and learns that she wishes he'd be more wild and dangerous, Eric starts his makeover by getting a tattoo on his butt.
Detailed Synopsis
When Eric gives in to temptation and sneaks a peek at Donna's journal, he discovers that sometimes she wishes he looked wicked and dangerous like Steven Tyler from Aerosmith. When Donna accuses him of reading the journal, he denies it saying he was actually going through her underwear drawer. Red's unhappy when Kitty tells him that Pastor Dave's coming for dinner; Red had been planning to watch a Vince Lombardi special on TV. Jackie tells Donna that Kelso was talking in his sleep "Jackie, this isn't going to work." She's afraid he's planning to break up with her. Donna confides that she thinks Eric may have read her journal, the part about Steven Tyler. Kitty's miffed when Pastor Dave reveals that he too is a Packers fan and can't wait to watch the Lombardi special with Red. Eric and Hyde hang out at Leo's place and the three get drunk on sake. Eric's worried about what he read in Donna's journal; Hyde says it won't be long before Donna dumps him for a biker. Leo says if Eric wants a tattoo, he can give him one, and he'll do it for free. Eric decides to get a "Donna" tattoo, but Leo insists that his girlfriend's name is "Debbie." Jackie tries to get Kelso to fall asleep, so he'll start talking again and she'll find if he really wants to break up. Pastor Dave has to be rushed to the hospital because he ate a Band-Aid that Red accidentally dropped in his food. Eric has a fantasy in which he prances around Donna dressed as Steven Tyler, complete with long wig. He tells Donna he got a tattoo, and she tears the page out of her journal saying that Eric's perfect. When Michael again talks in his sleep saying that it isn't going to work, Jackie wakes him up and demands to know what he's dreaming about. She's thrilled when he says that the car isn't working, so they'll have to take the bus to their wedding. And Eric swaggers down the hall to Donna's room and tries unsuccessfully to kick open her bedroom door. He announces that he's wild and dangerous just like she wanted him to be. She makes him confess that he read her journal, and she's pretty angry about it. She's entitled to her private thoughts, and, besides, Eric should be himself and not try to be what he thinks she wants him to be. When Eric drops his pants and shows her his butt, he tells her not to be mad if it says "Debbie." In fact, it's a tattoo of Snoopy's friend Woodstock.
