Detailed Synopsis
Kitty enlists Red, Eric, Hyde and Kelso to help with the church fundraiser; they're not thrilled, but it's non-negotiable. The gang's discussing Caroline, and Hyde says she's psycho. Donna observes that Caroline is fine; Hyde just doesn't understand women's emotions. She suggests to Jackie that they hang out with Caroline and make her feel welcome. Eric's upset when he tries to tell a funny story and Donna interrupts saying that they've already heard it eight times. At the church fair, Kitty assigns Red to sell raffle tickets, Hyde and Kelso to run the bingo, and Eric to run the cakewalk. Iris and Glen, a middle-aged couple, are doing the cakewalk. Iris is frumpy, unpleasant and demanding. Glen takes Eric aside and advises him not to marry his high school sweetheart. Iris was the prettiest girl in the school and now look at her. Red abandons the raffle ticket booth when the pastor invites him to join the crap game. Church is more fun than Red expected. Hyde and Kelso rig the bingo game, so they can win all the prizes. Jackie and Donna hang out with Caroline for a while and find out just how psycho she really is. If either of them ever touch Fez, says Caroline, she'll kill them. Eric's thinking hard about Glen's advice. He imagines a fat, ugly Donna twenty years after they're married. Eric freaks out at the thought. Donna and Jackie manage to convince Fez that his girlfriend is a nut. He tries to break up with her claiming that he and Donna are in love, but clearly Caroline doesn't plan to give up easily. Kitty's really upset when she realizes that all her volunteers have flaked out on her, but later, when they apologize, she says she's sorry that she made them do something they didn't want to do. And Eric's filled with hope, since his parents are still communicating after many years of marriage.
